What is the difference between an original and reproduced wood burn?
Original artwork is made to size with a minimum 32” length. The artwork is created using a unique and one of a kind process utilizing various tools and torches to burn the marine species of your choosing. Each piece is burned on solid poplar.
Reproductions are 30” archival prints of original wood burned artwork, mounted, cut and finished on 1/2” baltic birch. Our unique reproduction process allows each piece to look almost identical to the original wood burned artwork. Original and reproduced wood burned artwork is finished the same way. Please see below.
What type of wood do you use?
Original Wood Burns : Burned on 3/4” Poplar. Smooth and dynamic grain combined with it’s light tone make Poplar the ideal wood for burning. I am willing to work with other wood species if you have something specific in mind.
Reproductions : 1/2” baltic birch.
Why do you have a minimum size?
Original Wood Burns : I have a 32” length minimum on all of my original wood burned artwork. I have found that my torch technique is most effective above this size. I have always placed an emphasis on representing my subjects to scale.
What kind of finish do you use?
For all of my original wood burned artwork I use a high quality, UV stabilized, clear epoxy that will not yellow or crack over time on the front side and the back side receives several coats of Polyurethane.
Will my work come with hanging hardware?
Original Wood Burns & Reproductions : Yes. All of my pieces come equipped with a heavy duty wire hanger similar to the style you would see on framed artwork.
Prints : Unframed
Will my work include a signature?
Original wood burned artwork, reproductions and prints all come signed by the artist, Dylan Stewart.
How do I place an order?
I encourage people to use the submission form on my contact page to inquire about commission work.
When will my credit card be billed?
I typically send an invoice/receipt via email for original pieces as soon as the order is placed. I just ask that it is paid before the work is shipped. Everything else is available for purchase on the website.
How much will shipping cost?

Reproductions , prints and decals are based on the weight of your order.
What shipping carriers do you use?
I like to use USPS for smaller work and FedEx for larger shipments. I am always willing to work with other carriers if requested by the customer.
How do I track my order?
When your order is shipped, you will receive tracking info from the shipping carrier via email. There will be a clickable link to track your order all the way to it’s destination.
How long will it take to get my order?
Original Wood Burns : My production time typically varies from 8-12 weeks. I can usually provide an accurate time frame via email.
Reproductions : Ships within 5-7 Bussiness Days
Prints : Ships within 3-5 Business Days
Decals : Ships within 3-5 Business Days
